YOUR ARRIVAL IN LOS ANGELES
Please be sensitive to our need for sleep! When you make your travel arrangements, plan to arrive at LAX between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. local time. This should allow for any reasonable delays. Please be sure to forward your travel arrangements to me ahead of time; airline, flight #, arrival time, etc. would be helpful in tracking your arrival.
We will be happy to pick you up on the day that you arrive. However, due to the distance, gas prices, parking, etc. we will not pick you up at LAX. After claiming your luggage, continue on the same level to the exit. Once outside you will be able to see concrete islands that indicate various pickups such as taxi's, hotel shuttles, buses, etc. Proceed again to the island that indicates "buses." Several different buses pickup arriving passengers at these locations. The bus you need is clearly labeled FLY AWAY - VAN NUYS. Your ticket will be purchased upon your arrival at the Van Nuys terminal. I would recommend purchasing a round trip ticket and you will use the other half on your departure day to return to LAX.
When you arrive at the Fly Away - Van Nuys terminal, please contact me via the phone # that I will give you and I will pick you up. Our homestay is approximately 10 minutes from the bus terminal, so it won't take us very long to arrive and pick you up. Please sit and relax, inside or outside (depending on the weather) and we will find you. Please don't leave the bus terminal, it will only make it much more difficult to locate you. NEVER, NEVER leave your luggage unattended!
Please go to the link below. I have marked LAX, Van Nuys Fly Away Bus Terminal, and where our home is located. As you can see, the distance is great between LAX and Van Nuys and the distance between Van Nuys and our home is very little. This eliminates our waiting at LAX for any late arrivals.
